Get ready for A/C Season!




Don’t wait for the first hot day to find out if your air conditioner works.  Make a few simple checks to be ready for summer:

  1. Change the filter  –  the single most effective thing you can do for the health of your house and your system.
  2. Clean and clear your outside unit – have shrubs grown around it, leaves piled against it, dirt caked around it, sticks and leaves fallen into it?  Make sure your unit can breathe!
  3. Turn the system on – Do this on a reasonably warm day (above 60) just long enough to see if all components do run.  Keep in mind many units have a timer that will delay the start a few minutes.
  4. Check your drains – Not all systems have a test port to clean and run water through, but this step can avoid aggravation later.
